Coffee Break celebrates 20th anniversary

Wednesday morning Coffee Break in the village hall, which started in order to enable people to continue meeting when the village shop closed in 1999, marked its 20th birthday on October 23.

Around 40 people were present, including sisters Elizabeth and Sandra whose late mother Mary Ewings's idea it was to set up the alternative meeting place. Since then Coffee Break has rarely missed a week and, from voluntary contributions only, donations have been made to a variety of charities and organisations.

The chosen charity this time was the Triangle Drop-in Cancer Support Centre at South Hams Hospital, and Debbie Clift, who lives in the village, received the cheque.
