Neighbourhood Plan work singled out

South Milton Neighbourhood Plan is highlighted in a major new report into house-building in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs).

Produced by the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), the report, entitled Beauty Betrayed: how reckless housing development threatens England's AONBs, includes three case studies. South Milton is mentioned in the third, and the text is shown here:

The other studies refer to developments in the south-east. The first is for 521 houses in the Kent Downs which is awaiting a Supreme Court decision. The CPRE describes the second, where permission has been granted for 600 houses in the Sussex High Weald, as a 'worrying precedent'.
