SMPC has recently drafted its Flood Mitigation Plan. This involves a plan, given current resources, to alleviate the effects of intense rain periods which have been experienced in 2012 & 2013. A new gulley has been installed, with the kind permission of Olof & Gill White, in the wall at Broadhurst and a haunched open gulley opposite Old Thatch - it is hoped that these measures will successfully drain surplus water from outside The Old School House. In addition, it is hoped that a long-term solution will be found to prevent the debris running off Greenaway which tends to block the existing drains at times of heavy rain.
Cllr Lewis has prepared the attached Plan which was approved by SMPC on 22 July 2013 and updated in July 2017
The South Milton Cemetery is administered by The Parish Council on behalf of residents and the charges per the attached sheet (link below) apply. For any queries or comments about the Cemetery please contact Cllr Marion Brice.
The administration policy and fee structure was updated and confirmed at the meeting on 25th September 2017.
SMPC on 23 July 2012 adopted the same Code of Conduct as South Hams District Council - please review SHDC website for full details.
