South Milton's Neighbourhood Plan 2016-31 draft consultation document has been published.

The document has been compiled by a steering group appointed by the parish council, and following more than two years of meetings, discussions and a questionnaire sent to all residents on the electoral register.

Copies are available for inspection in the village hall, All Saints' Church and Kingsbridge Library, and are also held by parish councillors and steering group members. The members of the steering group are councillors Tim Lewis, Graham Collyer and Paul Davies plus Nick Townsend, Nick Bailey and Paula Booker.

The consultation period will continue until January 9. Comments can be made by email to Tim Lewis, the chairman of the steering group, at or by letter to Tim Lewis, Collacott, South Milton TQ7 3JG.

The steering group has held 34 meetings, and details can be found on this section of the website.

After the consultation period ends, any amendments considered applicable will be made. The plan will then be handed to South Hams District Council where it will undergo scrutiny and assessment. On completion of that stage, all parishioners on the electoral register will receive a copy and a referendum will be held. A simple majority in favour of the plan will send it back to SHDC where it will become a statutory document to be used in determining future planning applications.
